Gradazione (D/PWR/SPH)	Power is the strenght of your contact lens, and is a number between -25 and +25 (e.g. -1.50 or -1,75 or +1.00 or +2.50, etc.) Power is also called ”Pwr”, ”D”(diopters), ”Strenght” or ”SPH” (sphere) in the prescription or on the contact lens box. In your prescription, ”OS” = Your left eye and ”OD” = Your right eye. OU = Both eyes (your eyes have exactly the same parameter) --> If you are nearsighted (can see only near objects well) then select MINUS powers. --> If you are farsighted (can see only distant objects well) then select PLUS powers. Note, the power of the contact lenses is generally not the same power as in your eyeglass prescription.
Raggio base (BC)	Base Curve (a number between 8.0 and 10.0). This is the inside curve of your contact lens (e.g., 8.0, 8.1, 8.2, etc.). Base Curve is often written as ”BC” or ”BOZR” in your prescription or on the contact lens box. Many contact lenses come in only one base curve, many others in only two base curves, some come in multiple base curves so care must be taken when ordering. Cilindro (CYL)	Cylinder is a lens parameter for people that need correction for Astigmatism. Cylinder (a number between -4.00 and +4.00). This is the strenght of your astigmatism (e.g.,-0.75, -1.00, -1.25, etc.). Cylinder is often written as ”CYL” or ”ZYL” in your prescription or on the contact lens box. Cylinder and Axis are usually separated by ”x” and read as ”times” (example: -0.75x160). The lenses that correct astigmatism are called ”TORIC” contact lenses.
Asse (Axis / AX)	Axis is a lens parameter for people that need correction for Astigmatism. Axis is number between 0 and 180 (note that 0 = the same as 180). This is the orientation of your astigmatism (e.g., 180, 160, 90, etc.). Axis is often written as ”AX” or ”X” in your prescription or on the contact lens box. Cylinder and Axis are usually separated by ”x” and read as ”times” (example: -0.75x160). The lenses that correct astigmatism are called ”TORIC” contact lenses.

Acuvue Oasys for astigmatism is a 1-2 weeks disposable soft contact lens for people with astigmatism. These contact lenses are approved for up to one week of extended wear and are recommended for two week replacement.

Senofilcon A, a new generation silicone hydrogel material, is for contact lens wearers whose eyes can feel tired and dry in challenging environments, such as long hours of computer use, frequent ground or air travel, or everyday exposure to heated or air conditioned surroundings.
